CARA MUDAH DAN SEDERHANA MENGASAH TOMAHAWK ATAU KAMPAK

REMEMBER!!!
SAFETY FIRST!!!

Don't ever run your finger along a blade it's a sure way to get a nasty cut!

Objective: To learn how to sharpen a Tomahawk or Axe
After prolonged use of a tomahawk for throwing, cutting, breaching, etc. the blade will become dull. But don't worry sharpening a tomahawk is an easy task that anyone can do!

This is not like sharpening a knife

Sharpening a tomahawk is different then a knife, they have different purposes. While on a knife your looking for a razor sharp blade, on a tomahawk you want a nice beveled edge that can take lots of abuse before dulling out.

Note: This guide is meant to teach you the basics. There is no set procedure to how to sharpen your tomahawk or at what angle to set it at, this is just what I prefer from experience. I recommend testing different blade angles and sharpening methods to find the one the best fits your purposes.

tools needed: bastard file, whetstone, or sandpaper.
Step 1
Take your bastard file and place it on either the top or bottom corner of the blade(it doesn't matter what side). And try to hold it at a 25 degree angle(this is a good angle for all general use). Now while putting pressure on the file move it to the opposite corner.

Step 2
Continue with Step 1 until your desired result(it will feel nice and smooth). and now flip over the blade and repeat the process on the opposite side.

Step 3(optional)

For a tomahawk blade this is all that's really necessary, if you want to fine tune your blade repeat steps 1 and 2 with a whetstone.
If your blade is damaged pretty bad you can take it to some sand paper first using steps 1 and 2.
And That's it!
Sharpening a tomahawk is pretty darn simple, now your tomahawk is good to go!
